SPEAKER TEST SOUND FILES |
|
Here are some sound files that were generated for the field testing that I did for Eminence for their new 15"Eminence EPS-15C Neodymium Prototype Steel Guitar Speaker (the speaker has since went into production and has become a popular speaker in the Steel Guitar community). Also, a SICA 15" Neodymium Speaker (Model PL15B25S) that is available only from Ken Fox Fox Vintage Amps and the stock Peavey Nashville 112 speaker (an OEM Eminence Speaker). There are E9th Tuning sound clips and C6th Tuning sound clips. This was done because of the different frequency spectrum of each tuning. The song files were recorded using my Franklin D-10 Pedal Steel Guitar with Bill Lawrence 710 model pickups to a Hilton "infrared" Volume Pedal and then directly to the amplifiers. No effects were used. Because of the testing of the prototype Eminence EPS-15C speaker, two different amplifiers were used; The Peavey Nashville 112 amp, with my "standard EQ setup", and a Gallien Krueger MB200 amplifier. My "standard" EQ setting for the Nashville 112 is; Low= +9, Shift 800Hz, Mid-3, High and Presence +1 The Sound clips were recorded using Sonar 8.5.3 DAW Software, a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 recording interface unit and a Shure SM57 microphone. The sound clips are wav files to maintain full fidelity, that is needed when doing comparisons such as this.
